At the age of 2, a little girl was diagnosed with autism and doctors had deemed her unable to fluidly perform everyday tasks that most of us take for granted, such as reading, writing, communicating, doing our chores, and so many other things. This is how the story of Stay Sucker Free, Be You started. and so many other things.
This little girl was Paris A. Lampley, the daughter of our founder Darrell "WU" Lampley. Darell, being a Marine Corps Veteran, understood the sheer power of human determination, and used these exact words, “Stay Sucker Free, Be You” to encourage his young girl to shed her weaknesses and embrace her unique quirks, the things that made her different.
Soon the words of encouragement took on different forms, like “You’re Enough, Stay Lit, Embrace Your Uniqueness, Keep it Real” etc, and helped Paris learn to live despite her Autism.
Now, Paris is 11 years old, and lives a perfectly normal life, and it was made possible because she had her father beside her, who believed in her, and gave her the support that she needed to overcome her trials.
Now, with our clothing line-up, we’re spreading the message of authenticity, being true to one-self, and embracing our uniqueness.
We believe in inclusivity and the fact that there is a strength to be found in bringing all kinds of people with diverse backgrounds into our fold.
Be Sucker Free, Be You is an ode to the people who are going through the hardships of life, and need someone on their side to encourage them, cheer them on, and accept them. We hope to be that someone for everyone who is feeling alone, suffocated and unaccepted.
